The project:
The landside terminal skylights for the Orlando International airport, comprised of the “boulevard” skylight and four additional “lightbar” skylights, cover a whopping 1.4 acres (!) and are hurricane-rated for small missile. Moving West to East, the main boulevard ridge unit has a shallow slope downward towards the center of the skylight, then upward toward the front near the entrance. It has three different glass make-ups with different silkscreens, creating a unique pattern.
